Project Update - Sähköautot - Nyt!
Hi,
Even though I'm not a project activist, I think can help by giving some quick translations to your questions.

- What components have you choosen? (engine, controllers, batteries, etc)
These are available in Finnish at the car page, here's the quick summary. http://www.sahkoautot.fi/autot:saehkoeinen-toyota-corolla
Selected technology for prototyping phase
Motor and controller by Azure Dynamics: AC24LS, AT1200 and DMOC445. http://www.azuredynamics.com/products/force-drive/TractionMotorswithDigitalMotorControllers.htm
Batteries by Thunder-Sky: LFP-40 and LFP-60 http://www.thunder-sky.com/products_en.asp?fid=66&fid2=70
Battery management by FEVT Oy: Cell Control System, CSS http://www.fevt.com/technology
- which is the state-of-art of the prototype
Vikke Hyvönen provided a cheap "pre-proto" Corolla, it's available in a newly-built project shop of EvX company, the car is a salvaged wreck from an accident. People can now get their hands on reverse-engineering the CAN bus, see how much the engine and gearbox weigh and so on.
See this post for pictures: http://www.sahkoautot.fi/forum/t-104200/kuulumisia-hallilta#post-307523
EVforMe noted that "The awful engine had to be pulled off because it was smelling so bad. Hopefully nothing like that goes back under the hood again. :-D "
- how make subscriptions to the project have you collected so far?
There are no binding subscriptions yet, but some information is in the questionnaire page. http://www.sahkoautot.fi/autot:kysely
Today top 5 car models that have been voted for are
| Make/model | 1st choice | 2nd | 3rd | overall votes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volkswagen Golf | 119 | 93 | 89 | 301 |
| Toyota Corolla | 101 | 91 | 76 | 268 |
| Audi A4 | 58 | 55 | 45 | 158 |
| Toyota Avensis | 32 | 46 | 47 | 125 |
| Audi A3 | 30 | 57 | 35 | 122 |
A translated clip from the page:
There are 1742 potential buyers for an electric car. The answers for question "How likely would you purchase an electric car during next two years" are divided like this:
- 306 said "most likely"
- 357 said "very likely"
- 345 said "quite likely"
- 504 said "maybe"
- 194 said "not at this moment"
- 17 said "not at all"
(Yes, the numbers don't match but this is a translation, the correct numbers have to be updated to the page.)
Edit: fixed the links although Roberto provides them in his reply, thanks!
Best regards,
— M
